Rev. Dr. Mitzi Lynton

When did you first get interested in New Thought/Religious Science?
I've always been interested in philosophies that are inclusive and positive. My favorite books as a teenager were Wayne Dyer's Your Erroneous Zones and Norman Vincent Peale's The Power of Positive Thinking. When Dr. Jerry DeShazo introduced me to Creative Living Fellowship it was like reuniting with a long-lost friend.

Who are some of your most significant teachers/mentors?
Dr.Jerry DeShazo, my beloved Ron Peer, incredible "step" daughter Miranda, Rev. Michele Whittington, the practitioners at CLF, Terri Mansfield from the AZ Dept of Peace Campaign and all of my many ministerial colleagues and friends from different faith traditions. I love you all so very much.

Do you have an area that you are drawn to?
It is a joy and privilege to see the Truth for others in any situation.

Do you prefer to work face to face, over the phone or other ways?
Either.

How long have you been a Practitioner?
Since May 2005.

Are you a native of AZ?
I've lived in Phoenix since 1995. Originally I'm originally from London, England. I've done a lot of traveling and have also lived in Salt Lake City, Sun Valley Idaho, and southern California.

Did you start in another religion?
I was brought up by my grandmother who was active in the 12-step program, so grew up under that philosophy rather than a specific religion. I attended a Catholic elementary school for one year and a Church of England (Anglican) high school where we had church service every week. At the age of 18 I decided to become a born again Christian. However, I was never at peace with the belief that any one religion had a monopoly on God and heaven, and so soon set out on a spiritual quest to find something which honored and truly acknowledged all religions could lead to God. At the University of Utah I took a class on World Religions taught by a southern atheist which challenged many beliefs I had taken for granted and opened me up even more. When I walked into Creative Living Fellowship and saw all the religious symbols on the wall I knew I had found something that resonated with the core of my being.

What is your greatest joy as a Practitioner?
Being a loving, joyful conduit for Spirit, assisting in connecting others to their inner magnificence regardless of what may appear to be showing up and absolutely knowing that this is assisting the shift of global consciousness from fear to faith, peace, love and joy.
